1. Purpose of This Privacy Policy

4. Optional Consent for Chat History Storage

4.1 User Choice at First Launch

Upon first launch of the extension, application, or userscript, users are explicitly asked whether they consent to the storage of certain data for the purpose of enabling a chat message history feature.

This consent is:

  • Optional,
  • Revocable.

4.2 Consequences of Refusal

If a user refuses consent:

  • Their data will not be stored for historical purposes,
  • They will only have access to real-time chat messages,
  • The core chat functionality remains available.

Refusal does not restrict access to the Service itself, only to the history feature.

5. Categories of Data Processed

When consent is granted, the following data may be stored exclusively for chat history functionality:

  • Discord ID
  • Discord display name
  • In-game username
  • Tank name
  • Tank level
  • Username color
  • Chat messages
  • Game mode
  • Invitation link
  • User status

This data is strictly necessary for the contextual display and usability of the chat history.

6. Real-Time Data Transmission (All Users)

Regardless of the user’s consent choice:

  • Certain data must transit through servers temporarily to enable real-time communication,
  • These data flows are ephemeral, transient, and not stored in a persistent database unless consent has been explicitly granted,
  • Such transmission is required for the technical operation of the chat.

This applies even when chat history storage is disabled.

7. Data Storage and Retention

7.1 Stored Data

When enabled:

  • Data is stored only for as long as necessary to provide the chat history feature,
  • No excessive or unrelated data is retained,
  • Data is not repurposed beyond its original function.

7.2 Ephemeral Data

When storage is disabled:

  • Data is processed in memory or temporary server environments,
  • No long-term database storage is used,
  • Data is automatically discarded after transmission.

8. Data Security

Regardless of the processing method:

  • All data transits through secured servers,
  • Appropriate technical and organizational measures are implemented to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, loss, or disclosure,
  • Access to stored data is restricted to authorized components of the Service.

While no system can guarantee absolute security, DiepChat applies reasonable safeguards proportional to the non-commercial nature of the Service.

9. Data Sharing

DiepChat does not:

  • Sell user data,
  • Share data with advertisers,
  • Transfer data to third parties for commercial purposes.

Data may only be accessed internally for:

  • Service operation,
  • Moderation,
  • Technical maintenance.

10. User Rights

Depending on applicable laws, users may have the right to:

  • Request deletion of stored chat history data,
  • Stop using the Service at any time.

Given the non-profit nature of the Service:
